Pirate Day

International Talk Like a Pirate Day was Thursday, September 19th so of course the Celsius team had to celebrate in our own unique way. And what other way would we partake in this holiday with anything other than a treasure hunt! We split into three teams of three and scoured the lobbies on all 3 floors of our office building to gather the most gold coins. Team members, Jeremy and Kate, blew us all out of the ship with their pirate attire! After the treasure hunt concluded, we enjoyed lunch to finish off the festivities.

Did you know?…

International Talk Like a Pirate Day was created in 1995 by two men from Albany, Oregon, John Baur and Mark Summer. They proclaimed that September 19th of each year should be a day where everyone talks like a pirate. Phrases such as “Arrr!, Ahoy, Matey, and Booty,” are often used. Pirate Day was not as popular as it is today, though. Now this comedic holiday is celebrated around the world as a way to raise money for certain charity organizations such as Marie Curie Cancer Care and Childhood Cancer Support.
